Shadowless Delight

Covid internment makes me wonder now,
How smoothly and quickly the year went by-
And the seasons whispered well on their own,
But the days have slid across the velvet sky!
Reluctantly following the lofty hurricanes,
Blue smokes dispersed their plumes on golden day-
And the strong fragrance from the sap of sandal woods
Sighed, as it lifted itself around the Potomac Bay!
My yawn and sigh on lazy noon watched the Vermont peaks,
And chanted rhymes on a paling stream-
But soon from the orchard trees in the thicket,
Snows slip thudding down in my dream!
The long-eared owls fall in love and mate in haste,
But the naughty winds thrive to live in shadow-less light-
And the night comes down sooner on the pallid Earth,
To shelve the amazing things and hide out of sight!
Cascading feet and mind of mine stream
And at a distance, stumble to hear a quivering voice-
Greeted by a host of golden daffodils,
And offered a flickering beauty with no choice!
Shadow-less night bathes in delight,
And my flashing senses venture to dive-
In search of an aroma and amazement,
To keep mental issues and tissues healthy and alive!!

Aching silences trapped within the walls of her heart
Caught me off guard in a rush on a Dallas afternoon-
And the numbness in the unreal dreams
Fed my tinkled mind with a baby spoon!
Her clutching fingers burped in fears,
And I muttered insane like bumble bee-
Unhindered and unremembering, my eyes travelled
To look around the rocky mountain to turbulent sea!
With nothing but the thirsty winds to munch or chew,
Her silhouette passions strained her perplexed heart-
And the starved wits failed to communicate,
As she sang lulla bye all night on the rice bed!
I plunged in panics to pity her sleepless eyes,
Blundered towards the pure love making fun-
But fasted sadly in wilderness of romance,
Ringling through my brain as if on the run!
She held the golden glows of her heart’s desires
Beneath a beautiful rainbow on the blinding sky-
And it made me half-way awake but bewildered,
As I looked through the window at the passersby!
In her starved wits, I was taken aghast with a surprise,
Wandering round and round around moon-bathed dream-
On the sagging floor of “Milestone” in an autumn night,
Before the dawn washed the sunlit dew with a scream!!
“Milestone”
